ABBEVILLE—Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at a 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Rita Mae Romero, 94, who died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at her Residence.
She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Father Neil Pettit officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Nicholas G. Bergeron, Christopher K. Bergeron, Michael J. Romero, Kirt Anthony Romero, James Miller and Darrin Duhon.
She is survived by two sons, Paul James “Jimmy” Romero his wife Doris, William J. “Billy” Romero and his wife Myra; a daughter, Judy R. Bergeron; ten grandchildren, Jamie Bergeron Frederick and her husband Raymond, Nicholas G. Bergeron, Robyn B. Baudoin, Christopher K. Bergeron and his wife Donna, Michael J. Romero and his wife Jodi, Donna Romero, Sarah R. Clement and her husband Leo, Kirt Anthony Romero and his wife Betty, Tessie R. Duhon and her husband Darrin and Magen Romero; tewnty one great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edias “Mike” Romero; parents, Paul Barras and Henrietta Barrilleaux Barras; brother, Harry Barras; sisters, Louise Barras and Mable B. Sellers; a grandson, Gregory P. Romero; son in law, Karl Louis Bergeron.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service with a rosary to be prayed at 11:00 a.m.
