Mary Etheline Farley White

NEW IBERIA – A Memorial Mass will be conducted for Mary Etheline Farley White, age 80, at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
The family will receive guest beginning at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm.
A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of New Iberia, Ms. White passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center. Her body was donated to Tulane Medical Center as she requested.
Mary was a very eccentric person with a very outgoing personality and a love for life. She was involved in the entertainment industry for many years and was a member of the American Guild of Variety Artist and also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She traveled and lived in multiple states and was a resident of New Orleans for many years before residing in New Iberia. Ms. Mary enjoyed dancing, drawing and spending time with her family and friends, which whom she leaves many great memories.
She is survived by her nephew, Wayne Copell and wife Mary; great nieces, and godchild Erica Robicheaux and husband Kirk, Mona Lisa Broussard and Kathlene Gavin; special friend, Norbert Broussard, Sr. along with numerous other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florestine Ditch White; six sisters, Ophelia White Menard, Eola Heart, Jeanette Koch, Elaine White and Shirley Copell; eight brothers, Isaac, Walter, Jeb, Raphael, Frenchie, Oreo, Custer and Preston White; two nieces, Flo Choate Milsted and Delores Snead and nephew, George Choate, II and her late husband, Robert Leo Seigneurie.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Solomon House, where she spent much time volunteering, 520 Center Street-New Iberia, LA 70560.
