Kenneth James Hebert

LOUISBURG, NC — Lt. Col. (USMC Ret.) Kenneth James Hebert, 77, of Louisburg, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Born in Abbeville, LA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Mabel Gaspard Hebert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Blanche Sandlin Hebert.
Lt. Col. Hebert proudly served his Country with the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring after thirty-one years of service. During his tenure with the Corp, he earned the Bronze Star w/Combat device, Purple Heart with 2 devices, NCM w/Combat V, MUC w/1 star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry (2 awards), Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 2 devices, NCM w/Combat V, Meritorious Unit Commendation w/2 stars.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela G. Casper and husband Ken of Raleigh; sons, Danny Hebert of Morehead City, Keith Hebert and wife Essee of Fayetteville, and David Hebert and wife Lyn of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Humble of Abbeville, LA; and brothers, Gale Hebert of Abbeville, LA and Calvin Hebert of Beaumont, TX.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday, April 11, 2014 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park with full Military rites.
