Kenneth Edward “Moose” Delcambre

DELCAMBRE — Kenneth Edward "Moose" Delcambre (originally of Delcambre), age 73, passed away on Friday, May 27 in North Louisiana. A memorial mass for his daughters, grandchildren, siblings and friends will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Thomas Voorhies will be the celebrant with Fr. Nathan Comeaux as con-celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church beginning at noon, with the Rosary being recited at 1:00 pm prior to the Mass.
Kenneth, known by family and friends as Moose, was a 1961 graduate of Delcambre High School. He had a career in Law Enforcement that spanned over four decades of service to the people of Louisiana. He retired from the Louisiana State Police with over 30 plus years of service. During that time, he served at Troops C and I, and at the time of his retirement was Commander of Troop D in Lake Charles.
He also served with Protective services for Governors Edwin Edwards and Dave Treen. After his retirement, Moose worked with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Moose is survived by his three daughters, Michelle Delcambre LeBlanc and her husband Randy, Nicole Delcambre Trahan and her husband Kurt, both of Delcambre, and Jenee Delcambre Trahan and her husband Mark of Erath; his grandchildren, Jhy LeBlanc and wife Jessica, Blair Sellers and wife Lanie, Tren LeBlanc and girlfriend Chelsea, Trey LeBlanc and wife Lori, Jaci Trahan, Judd Trahan, and Landon Trahan; and one Great-grandchild due to arrive in December.  He also leaves behind his brother Jordan Delcambre and wife Anna of Springhill, TN, his brother Huey Delcambre and wife Carla, and sister Linie Delcambre, both of Delcambre; numerous nieces and nephews; and his wife, Elizabeth Hebert Delcambre. 
He was preceded in death by his father, L. E. "Jun" Delcambre; mother, Bertha Landry Delcambre; sister, Bernadine Delcambre; and nephew, Grant Paul Mayard.
