ABBEVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Joyce Marie Jones will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville. Father Louis Richard will be the celebrant. She will await the resurrection in the St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville, LA.
Ms. Joyce Marie Jones (64), a long time resident of Abbeville passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 while surrounded by family and friends. She leaves to mourn, but in God’ care, one son, Rogers James Green, Jr. (Shane) of Houston, TX; two daughters, Terressa Sheppard (Stanley) of New Iberia, LA; and Tonia Green of Lafayette, LA; her mother, Evelyn Montgomery, and a special friend, Travis O’Brian of Abbeville, LA; three brothers, Kirby Montgomery (Debra) of Youngsville, LA; Herbert Walker (Josephine) and Joseph Walker, Jr. both of New Iberia, LA; one adopted brother, Rev. Lloyd Joiner, Jr. (Shirley) of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Gladys Charles and Carrie Ann Deal (Lee) both of New Iberia, LA; an adopted sister, Marilyn Wright (Morris) of Abbeville, LA; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Kelly, her father, Henry Evans, Sr., adopted parents, Elijah Jones and Hazel Parker, her brother, Henry Evans, Jr., maternal grandparents, Eraste Montgomery and Amy Walker Montgomery.
Visitation will be from 8:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc. – 218 N. St. Valerie Street – Abbevlle, LA (337) 898-9595 who is in charge of final arrangements.
