Joy Lynn Fruge

LAKE ARTHUR - A Mass of Christian burial Joy Lynn Fruge, 46 of Lake Arthur, will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday, June 22 from at 1:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. Visitation resumed on Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral Mass. Burial was in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur, under the direction of Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
Joy Lynn was born in Jennings, to the late Edward Fruge and the late Larreed Benoit Fruge on August 29, 1967. She loved music, singing and visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed having company and going to Walmart. Joy had a kind heart and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Fruge Fontenot and her husband, Michael of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Phil Boudreaux and his companion, Jerry Chapman of Gueydan, and Troy Fruge and his wife, Kimberly of Lafayette; her Godmother, Gloria Potier Taber of Gueydan.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Larreed Benoit Fruge; her brother and Godfather, Roderick Boudreaux.
