CROWLEY — Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Ebenezer Nazarene Church for Jeffrey Shawn Hayes, 45, who died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Crowley, LA.
Pastor T and Rev. Jim Hoffman will conduct the funeral services and the committal services at the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. Visitation may be observed at the Ebenezer Nazarene Church on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Shawn was born May 6, 1968 in Lafayette, LA. He was a 1986 graduate of Indian Bayou High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He liked to hunt and fish and loved to cook for his family and friends.
He is survived by his father George Hayes of Indian Bayou, LA; his wife, Courtney G. Hayes of Crowley; a son Christian Hayes of Rayne; two daughters Kayla Cain-Evans of Manhattan, Kansas and Emma Renee Hayes of Crowley; a step-daughter Chloe Pettigrew of Mississippi; a step-son Zachary Pettigrew of Mississippi; three brothers, Michael Hayes and his wife Mary of Indian Bayou, Kim R. Hayes of Crowley and Christopher Hayes and his wife Laura of Indian Bayou; a sister Suzanne “Suzie” Broussard and her husband Darren of Maurice; his godfather, Mark Hayes Hollier of Lafayette and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Jean Dronet Hayes and his stepmother Karen Petry Hayes.
