James ‘A.J.” Gary

GUEYDAN - Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of James Gary, 80, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his residence. He was laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vernita Gary of Gueydan; four sons, Jonathan LeBlanc and his wife, Deborah of Farmerville, LA, Rene Gary and his wife, JoAnn of Kingwood, TX, Tim Gary of Gueydan, and Jody and his wife, Sherrie of Waterford, CA; two sisters, Mary Marting of Gueydan and Sylvia Hartwell of Hayes; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave Hebert and the former Inez Hardy.
Visiting hours were observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7 p.m.; Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
All funeral arrangements were conducted by Vincent Funeral Home of Gueydan.
