Herbert Joseph Butcher, Sr.

A home-going service will be held for Herbert Joseph Butcher, Sr. 83, at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Mount Triumph Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Thibeaux, officiating.
He will await the resurrection at Mount Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church until time of service.
A native and resident of Abbeville, La. He passed at 2:55 P.M. Thursday at his residence.
He was a member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son Herbert Joseph Butcher, Jr. of New Orleans, La., three daughters, Sheila Forest (Eric) of New Orleans, La., Penelope Lively and Patty Frank of Abbeville, La., one brother, Joseph Butcher, Jr. (Beverly) of Abbeville, La., one sister, Mary Bell Campbell of Abbeville, La. eight grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, one god-child Gwendolyn Broussard as well as niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Butcher, Sr. and Oudia Batiste.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Butcher, Jr., Randy Campbell, Calvin Gauthia, Jr., Jaman Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, and Jarrick Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wilfred Allen and the Mount Triumph Baptist Church Deacons.
