Gayle Broussard Duck

ERATH – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gayle Broussard Duck, 74, was held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating.  Interment followed at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.
Visitation was held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday January 3, 2016 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation resumed on Monday January 4, 2016 from 7:30AM until the time of the services.
A Native and lifelong resident of Erath Mrs. Gayle died at 2:29PM on January 1, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  She retired from Erath Police Department where she was a dispatcher for over 35 years.  For many years she was a beautician and would use her talent to assist with hair and makeup at Broussard Funeral Home which was owned by her family.  She was also known for her enjoyment of playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with family.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila LeBlanc and her husband Edrick of Delcambre and Patrice Perkins and her husband Robert of Abbeville; a brother, Martial Broussard and his wife Jeneal of Erath; five grandchildren, Kimberly Mason and her husband Jarad, Britlyn Zagar and her husband Zane, Chelsie Rogers, Paige Rogers, and Kylee Angel and her husband Seth; six great grandchildren, Tallon Guiberteau, Aubrey Zagar, Tucker Zagar, Olivia Mason, Andrew Mason and Brooklyn Angel; and two step grandchildren, Meagan Perkins, and Michelle Prkins.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Tessie Richard Broussard; two sons, William Reeves “Billy” Duck and Infant David Neal Duck; and a sister, Katherine Broussard.
Serving as pallbearers were David Broussard, Jr., Scott Backstrom, II, Kerry Lange, Teilla Broussard, Triston Bouillion, and Robbie Broussard.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were be Katherine Broussard, Chelsie Rogers, and Paige Rogers.
Serving as reader was Mayor John Earl LeBlanc.
Serving as Gift bearers were Irene and Brenda Champagne and Pat Trahan. 
David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 handled the arrangements.
