Dorothy Mae Menard Theriot “Shine”

HENRY—Funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Catholic Church honoring the life of Dorothy Mae Menard Theriot, 94, who died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery.
Mrs. Shine was well known and loved for her fantastic cooking throughout the years. She was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society in Henry and had many friends, family and “adopted” family through her catholic faith and manner in which she accepted everyone. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Allen John Theriot and his wife Sheryl, Terry Lynn Theriot, Cordell James Theriot and his wife Monica; grandchildren, Heidi Gremillion and her husband Jed, Anthony Theriot and his wife Amber, Greg Theriot and his wife Dr. Pamela Theriot, Dr. Laurie Theriot Roley and her husband Dan, Payton Theriot, Natalia Theriot, Jason Theriot and Justin Theriot and his wife Lindsay; great grandsons, Dylan Presley, Christian Theriot, Samuel Theriot and Luke Theriot; great granddaughters, Courtney Theriot, Adelyn Theriot and Emma Theriot; brother, Sterling “Cap” Menard and his wife Hazel; and sister, Irene “Nin” Menard Huval.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elie J. Theriot; parents, Ulysse Menard and the former Elodia Brasseaux; grandsons, Shawn Allen Theriot and Jonathan Wayne Theriot; brothers, L.J. “Shug” Menard, Dalton “Shamee” Menard and Ulgere “Friz” Menard; sister, Willie Mae “Will” Menard; and nephews, Roddy and Brett Menard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. John Catholic Church, 18534 LA Highway 689, (Henry) Erath on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 8:a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to especially thank Desiree Belote and I.B.C. Group Community Home Health Care & Hospice for aiding in the care of their mother.
