Clement “Clem” Simoneaux Jr.

ABBEVILLE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Clement “Clem” Simoneaux Jr., age 66, on Thursday June 2, 2016 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath with Father Bill Melancon officiating.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 10:00AM and remaining open all night until the time of Services on Thursday, June 2,2016.  A recitation of the rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM on Wednesday June 1, 2016.
A native and resident of Erath, Mr. Clement Simoneaux Jr. took his last breath peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, as he was surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Simoneaux was a third generation owner and operator of The Oaks Lounge.  Clem spent his life committed to citizenship and serving his community. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Erath, retired from law enforcement after 28 years, and a member of the Erath Jaycees.  Mr. Simoneaux was strong in his faith and was a devout Catholic as well as a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3872 of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath.
He is survived by his daughter Samantha Simoneaux Dupuis of Abbeville, two sons Clement “Peanut” Simoneaux III and his wife Amanda of Dulac, and Se’ver Renard of Delcambre; one sister Maxine Sellers of Abbeville;  his grandchildren, Jody “BJ” Dupuis Jr., Samuel Dupuis, Casey Quebodeaux, Roni Petty, Ernia K. Simoneaux, Clement Simoneaux IV, BayLee Reed Simoneaux and his great-grandchildren Jameson Robert Hellen and 8 others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clement Simoneaux, and his mother Olivia Connor Sellers and a brother, Alicibade Broussard.
Upholding the honor as pallbearers will be Clement Simoneaux III, Russell Suire, Paul Daniels, Todd Babineaux, Earl Chaisson, and Se’ver Renard.
