Cecil John Ardoin

FORT WORTH — Cecil John Ardoin, 71, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday in Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel with a service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society.
Cecil John Ardoin, or “Cajun, as he was known in Texas, graduated from Abbeville High School in May 1962 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served 23 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.
He was very active in the American Legion Post 624 in Mansfield, Texas, the American Legion Riders and the VFW. The American Legion Riders led the procession to the Veterans Cemetery where he was given full military funeral honors.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Janelle Ardoin; daughters, Nicole Adams and husband, Mark, and Michelle Ardoin; granddaughter, Erica Knutzen; grandsons, Kyle Dunshee and Ryan Ardoin; stepdaughters, Melissa Lovette and Stacy Kepple and husband, Zach; stepgranddaughter, Kristen Lovette; stepgrandsons, Dakota Henson and Joshua Henson; sister, Mona Ardoin LeBlanc and husband, Russell; brother, Joey Tate and wife, Punkie; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Amy Soileau Ardoin.
