Brenda Faye Hebert

January 12, 1952 ~ December 13, 2014

ABBEVILLE— Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Esther Baptist Church honoring the life of Brenda Faye Hebert, 62, who died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at her residence.
She will be laid to rest at Esther Community Cemetery with Reverend Wallace Primeaux officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Wilson Boudreaux, Jerrard Boudreaux, Kaine Broussard, Jude Boudreaux, Christopher Franks and Joshua LeBlanc. She was a rice farmer, raised cattle and horses.
Brenda was an avid softball player. She played as a catcher for E. Sonnier Oil when they won the State Championship and later went on to regionals in the late 1960’s.
After Hurricane Rita, Brenda was in charge of the disturbution of medical supplies, food and water to aid humans and animals. She rescued many animals that were homeless and needed shelter.
She is survived by her father, Osburn Hebert; two sisters, Bonnie LeBlanc and her husband Eddie, and Betty H. Boudreaux and her husband Wilson; four nephews, Joshua LeBlanc, Jerrard Boudreaux, Eddie LeBlanc, IV and Christopher Franks; and eight nieces, Jody Glover, Joany Boudreaux, Jillian Boudreaux, Delanie Hebert, Beth LeBlanc-Thomsen, Holly Boffy, Karla Woolsey and Cheyenne Hebert .
She was preceded in death by her mother, the former Gloria Durr; brother, Bobby W. Hebert; paternal grandparents, Elma P. Hebert and Willie Hebert; and maternal grandparents, Ivy Durr and Lezima Durr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Esther Baptist Church, 12428 W La Highway 82 , on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family of Brenda would like to acknowledge St. Joseph Hospice, especially nurse, Carla Dutile, along with her caregivers and sitters who provided loving care to Brenda at her time of need.
