Erath – Funeral Services for Mr. Benjamin Rawlins, 87, will be held 2:00PM on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at The United Pentecostal Church of Lydia with Pastor Ronnie Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery.
Visitation will be held David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 9 AM until the time of the services.
A native and lifelong resident of Louisa, Mr. Rawlins died at 3 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He enjoyed hunting and baseball. He was the bridge operator at Louisa for over 44 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Olander Rawlins of Louisa; a son, Jonathan Rawlins of Erath; two daughters, Angela Morgan and her husband Willie of Erath and Melanie Sammons and her husband John Louie of Dublin, GA; three grandchildren, Natasha Robertson and her husband John, Ross Morgan and his wife Hannah, and Amy Richard and her husband Haiden; five great grandchildren, Brooks Morgan, Bailey Morgan, Avri Robertson, Lexi Robertson, Dylan Robertson, and one on the way; and two sisters, Rita Cummingham and Genevieve Toups.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Rose Ewing Rawlins; a daughter, Sheryl Marie Rawlins; eight sisters, Imma Belle “Chut” Derouen, Eula Mae “Sis” Bonin, Ruth Doty, Nellie Borel, Mary P. Frioux, Daisy Bonin, Willa Simmons, Ella Laughlin; and five brothers, Harry “Babe” Pinell, Sr., Walter
Pinell, Harrison Hebert, Rev. Andrew Hebert, and Dewey Hebert.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roland Olander, Nicholas Olander, John Simon, Haiden Richard, John Robertson, and Ross Morgan.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brooks Morgan, Thomas Olander, and Randal Romero.
