Almeta Sonnier Bessard

ABBEVILLE – Funeral service for Mrs. Almeta Sonnier Bessard will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church – 310 S. Lamar Street – Abbeville, LA with burial in the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church Cemetery on Perry Street. Rev. Darrel Thibeaux will officiate the service.
Almeta Bessard (92), a long time resident of Abbeville, LA passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Abbeville General Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Elizabeth Stewart, two grandchildren, DeMarcus Stewart, and Dawn Stewart all of Abbeville, LA; three great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, John B. Sonnier and Lena Smith Sonnier; her husband, Whitney Bessard; her son, Whitney Bessard, Jr.; and siblings, Pearlie Besard, Lillian Campbell, Lena Feast Nolan, Roxie Feast, Alberta Feast Shelvin, Alma Sonnier Green, Della Sonnier Wilson, Marjorie Sonnier Levy, Cubie Feast and John Sonnier.
Visitation will take place at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.
