ABBEVILLE — A memorial service will be held at a later date honoring the life of Mary Elaine DeCuir Sherman, 71, who died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles George Sherman; daughters, Delaina S. Stephens, Christina Hebert and her husband Ricky, Sherry Howell and her husband Lynn, and Karen Thibodeaux and her husband Lelande; son, Keith Sherman and his wife Virginia (who she looked at as her own daughter as well); grandchildren; Jesse Stephens, Jeffery Stephens, Jeremy Stephens, Blythe Hebert, Camden Hebert, Zoe Hebert, Ashley Dumesnil, Drew Howell, Colby Howell, Emily Sherman and Sarah Sherman; great grandchildren, Sophie Stephens, Ava Stephens, Charlie Stephens, Ella Rae Dumesnil, Joshua Dumesnil and Henry Bob Howell; and siblings, Audrey Prejean, Catherine Walters, Arnold Hebert and Lisa Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father, Etienne DeCuir; mother, Mary Louise Hebert; and brother, Ronald Hebert.
