Lisa Meaux

January 9, 1956 - July 12, 2016

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the life of Lisa Meaux, 60, who died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church before the Memorial Mass.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Broussard, her son, Benjamin Bougeois and his partner, Wendy Tam and their son, Desmond Bourgeois, and her son, John-Curtis Bourgeois and his wife, Charlotte, her stepson, Dr. Andre Broussard and his wife, JoDee and their children, Caleb and Charlie Rose, her stepdaughters, Ada Broussard and Amelia Broussard, her parents, Jeffery and Lou Meaux, her sisters, Cheryl Meaux and Donna Meaux Lormand, her brothers, Jeff Meaux and Michael Meaux, her brothers-in-law, Gaulman Harrington and Ward Lormand and sisters-in-law, Pam Meaux and Nancy Meaux. She is also survived by her godchildren, Emily Fagan and Madison Meaux and numerous nieces and nephews. Last but not least, she leaves behind her beloved dogs, Ecco and Eli, and a host of feathered hens .
Lisa was a retired teacher from Lafayette Parish School Sytem. She taught English Language Arts, Fine Arts, and Gifted Education at North Vermilion High School, L.J. Alleman Middle School, Paul Breaux Middle School, and Lafayette High School. She was currently a Gifted Education teacher at Cecilia Junior High School and Cecilia High School.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the National Audubon Society.
There will also be a celebration of Lisa’s life held at Acadiana Center for the Arts Saturday, July 23, 2016. Specific times will be posted on Lisa’s Facebook page.
