Public schools in Abbeville will remain closed on Tuesday

Schools in Abbeville will remain closed on Tuesday after the city issued a boil advisory early Monday morning.
The boil advisory forced the closure of schools in the city.
Vermilion Parish Superintendent Jerome Puyau announced at 1:30 p.m. Monday that public schools in the city will remain closed on Tuesday as the city awaits results of tests on its water system. Abbeville High, J.H. Williams Middle School, Eaton Park Elementary and Herod Elementary will all be closed.
There is no word yet if private schools in the city, including Vermilion Catholic, Mt. Carmel, Harvest Time Christian Academy and Lighthouse Christian Academy, will remain closed on Tuesday. Those schools did close Monday.
