Harber's total bond set at more than $4.6 million

James Harber remains in the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center with a bond set at more than $4.6 million.
Harber is accused of rape involving juveniles. Abbeville Police arrested him on April 26.
Harber, 31, faced a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon. District Judge Laurie Hulin set the total bond at $4,675,000.
Harber is charged with one count of first-degree rape, with a $150,000 bond, and one count of second degree rape, with a $75,000 bond. Those charges are from the Abbeville Police Department.
Through the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, Harber is charged with one count of second-degree rape, with a $100,000 bond. The sheriff’s office has also charged 58 counts of child pornography, with a $75,000 for each of the 58 counts.
On Friday, April 29, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested Harber on 58 counts of child pornography and one count of second degree rape with total bond set at $4,350,000.
On Saturday, April 30, Angela Head was arrested in connection to this case on one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and three counts of child pornography with a total bond of $300,000.
Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon said that Harber was arrested on these additional charges after 58 images of child pornography photographs were located on an electronic device during a search warrant executed by Abbeville Police and Vermilion Parish Detectives.
Sheriff Couvillon says that Angela Head was also arrested based on evidence retrieved from one of Harber’s electronic devices.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and/or arrest may be forthcoming.
