Nella “Dod” Roy

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Nella “Dod” Roy, 95, who passed away on March 2, 2016.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.
Nella, a resident of Maurice, was the daughter of the late Boniface Denais and the former Edith Landry.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Michelle Wimberly and her husband, Paul and Courtney Lanclos and her husband, Larry; five great granddaughters; her sister, Arlene Desormeaux and daughter-in-law, Linda Roy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Roy; son, Lynnwood Roy and one sister, Beulah Bourque.
Dod enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and was proud to share her fresh vegetables with family and friends. Playing cards and more recently bingo at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation, were some of her favorite past times. She adored her only son, Lynn Roy, who proceeded her in death.
We would like to thank the entire staff of PPHR for making our grandmother’s stay there, a home away from home. We would also like to thank the staff’s of St. Joseph Hospice and The Carpenter House for their compassionate care of our grandmother until the time of her death.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 8:30 AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Paul Wimberly, Larry Lanclos, Jr., Brian Desormeaux, Dave Roy, Jason Roy and Stuart Roy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Roy and Dean Desormeaux.
