Lady Eagles take care of Centerville in district action

The No. 1 seeded Vermilion Catholic Lady Eagles scored 22 points in the first period and cruised to an easy, 57-27, victory over Centerville on the road.
VC improves to 18-4 overall and 8-0 in district.
Bella Doucet continues to be steady in scoring. She came into the game averaging 13 a game. In the win on Friday, she scored her season average to lead the Lady Eagles.
Meredith Stutes made seven for VC. Other scorers were Mary Meaux (2), Ainsley Mallet (4), Kelly White (4), Leah Camel (2) and Ann Catherine Gallet (2).
The Lady Eagles will play Lafayette Christian Academy (17-7, 7-1) on Tuesday for what could be for the district title. VC won the first round, 55-33, in Lafayette.

The VC Eagles fell to 3-3 in district after dropping a 62-44 road game in Centerville.
Nick Fletcher, who had only two points in the first half, scored 14 in the second half to pace VC in scoring. J.T. Lege added seven.
VC will entertain Lafayette Christian Academy on Tuesday for district. LCA is coming off a 100-41 win over Ascension Catholic on Friday.
