Raymond Non-Natus “BB” Wilson Sr.

ABBEVILLE — Raymond Non-Natus “BB” Wilson Sr. of Lafayette, LA passed away after a brief illness on January 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
A Home-Going Celebration will be held at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 101 N. Leonard Ave., Abbeville, LA on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10am. with Fr. Kenneth Mayne, celebrant.
Born November 30, 1940 in Abbeville, LA to Edolie and Kenneth Wilson Sr., Raymond was a 1965 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He satisfied his passion for science and research through a career as a Medical Technologist. He was also a Louisiana-licensed Real Estate Broker and Notary Public.
Raymond was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus St. Edmond Council No. 10293.
A humble, selfless man, Raymond loved his family deeply, and his family returned that love. Moved with compassion for persons less fortunate, he willingly and wholeheartedly gave to provide comfort. As a devout Roman Catholic, he was a staunch supporter of the Pro-Life movement.
Raymond is survived by his longtime, dearest friend Velma Allen; his former spouse Gladys Batiste; his daughter Angel; his sons Gregory and wife Evelyn, Raymond Paul II and wife Geri, and Todd; his grandchildren Terrill and wife Michelle, Candace Monique, Ryan, Stephanie, Jenae, Lyric, Anthony, Preston, Raymond Michael III, Dawson, Justus, Elliott, and Claire; and his great-grandchildren Denerick, Jordan, Cameron, Jakari, Rylin, Zion, Nakairran, and Zyla; and a bountiful host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Raymond was preceded in death by his mother Edolie; his father Kenneth Sr.; his sisters Olivia, Agnes, and Betty; his brothers Roy, Kenneth Jr., Arthur, and Robert; and his grandson Gregory “Pooch”.
Visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home, 1116 Green St., Abbeville, LA, on Friday, January 15, 2016, from 7am until time of service. Interment will be held at St. Paul Cemetery, 515 Jacqulyn St., Abbeville, LA.
