Lorraine Decuir
DELCAMBRE — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lorraine C. Decuir 71, the former Lorraine Comeaux at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Saint Martin DePorres Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Comeaux, celebrant.
She will await the resurrection at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Delcambre, LA.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the church until time of service with a rosary to be recited at 9:00 A.M.
A native of Delcambre and resident of Saint Martinville, LA. She passed at 9:55 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Center in Lafayette, LA.
She was a 1963 Graduate of Herod High School in Abbeville, LA. and was a member of the Saint Louis Chapel Rosary Group of Parks, LA.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Stanley Decuir of Lafayette, LA. and Timothy Decuir of Arnaudville, LA.. one daughter Melissa D. (Curtis, Sr.) Joseph of Saint Martinville, LA., two sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Delcambre, LA., and Cora (Freddie) Martin of Youngsville, LA., seven grandchildren, Timothy Scott Decuir, Jared Decuir, Emmitt Decuir, Curtis Joseph, Jr., Caliyah Joseph, Camille Joseph, and Keirsten Sanders, two great-grandchildren Kaiden and Tyler Sanders, two sisters-in-law, Leola (Alvin) Dominique of New Iberia, LA., Lula Mae Decuir of Delcambre, LA., one brother-in-law, Willie Robertson of Avery Island, LA., a best friend, Otherea “Nanny” Bernard of Delcambre, LA., a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Decuir, Jr., her parents, Wallace Comeaux and Mildred Lewis Comeaux, one sister, Mary Lou Comeaux, one niece, Mahalia Broussard, one nephew, Jeramie Jones, two brothers-in-law, John Decuir and Will Jones, one sister-in-law, Mary Robertson, father and mother-in-law, Lawrence Decuir, Sr. and Esther Decuir.
Active pallbearers will be Anthony Broussard, Glenn Bernard, Ceich Roy, Craig Hebert, Macary Benjamin, and Chris Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Decuir, Timothy Decuir, Curtis Joseph, Sr., Timothy Scott Decuir, Jared Decuir, Emmitt Decuir, and Curtis Joseph, Jr.
