NEW IBERIA — A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Christiana B. Jackson 84, the former Christiana Benjamin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December29, 2015 at Saint Edward Catholic Church, New Iberia, LA with Rev. Thomas H. Vu, celebrant.
She will await the resurrection at Holy Family Cemetery, New Iberia, LA.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home until time of service with a rosary to be recited at
Mrs. Christiana Jackson was called home at 3:35 p.m. on Sunday December 20, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center. A native and resident of New Iberia, LA she was an exemplary Christian, a devout mother, grandmother and paradigm of hard work. Mrs. Christiana loved and was loved by all that knew her. She was kind and generous to all in need.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Katherine Hawkins and Roland Edison, Jr., of Maryland; one sister Orelia Pierce of New Iberia, LA, as well a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Peter Edison and Jacob Jackson, her parents, Newton Benjamin and Sedonia Pierce Benjamin, one son, Roland Edison, one brother Nolton Benjamin and three sisters, Sedonia Benjamin, Paula B. Brown, and Leona Benjamin.
Active Pallbearers will be Members of the Immediate Family and Friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Members of the Immediate Family and Friends.
