Sonnier - Legere exchange wedding vows

Miss Audrey Renee Sonnier and Mr. Andre Paul Legere were united in holy matrimony during a nuptial Mass held on Friday December 18, 2015. The celebrant was Fr. Chester Arceneaux.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cornell Sonnier of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Smith of Grand Coteau; and James Sonnier and the late Sadie Andrus of Carencro.
The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Felix Legere, also of Abbeville. His grandparents are Matsy Guidry and the late Ernie Guidry of Abbeville; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Legere of Kaplan.
Escorted by her father the bride wore a simple, classic, white gown designed in a fit and flare style featuring lace cap sleeves and a keyhole back. She also wore a cathedral length veil with crystal trim. She carried a bouquet of gardenias and white peonies entwined with her grandmother’s rosary.
Mrs. Emily Dodge served as matron of honor, while Ms. Katelyn Maybrier served as maid of honor. Both are friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dr. Elise Desonier and Mrs. Taylor Umphries, friends of the bride; and Dr. Alicia Williams, cousin of the bride. They each wore a one shoulder, floor length dress of black chiffon and carried nosegays of white and oxblood peonies.
Phillip Legere, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Seth Sonnier, brother of the bride; Craig Guidry and George Legere, cousins of the groom; and Frank deGraauw, friend of the groom. Ushers were Travis Eaglin, cousin of the bride; and Jason Migues, friend of the groom.
Readings for the Mass were given by Leah L. Fisher, sister of the groom; Paulette Smith, aunt of the bride; and Lisa Mouton, cousin of the bride. Gift bearers were Elise L. Faulk, sister of the groom and Carlos Smith, Godfather of the bride. Serving as Eucharistic Ministers for the ceremony were Clara Harris, aunt of the bride; and Eugene Smith, uncle of the bride. The altar server was Marie Elena Desormeaux, cousin of the groom.
A string quartet directed by Tommy Guidry provided a beautiful backdrop of music for the ceremony, which was enhanced by vocalist, Jennifer Melancon.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Magdalen Place and the guests were entertained by the band, Krossfyre.
After returning from their honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Carencro, La.
