Guidry-Trahan united in holy matrimony

Miss Jennifer Guidry of Maurice, and Mr. Marcus Trahan of Abbeville, were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Father Brian Harrington officiated the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.
Parents of the bride are Wendell and Sheila Guidry of Maurice, La. Her grandparents are Betty B. Perkins of Abbeville and the late Leonce Gaspard and the late Ewell and Loraine Guidry.
Parents of the groom are Michael R. and Judy Trahan of Abbeville. Grandparents include Michael and Judy Trahan of Perry, La. and Doyce and Beverly Broussard of Meaux, La.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Tommy Guidry, John Luquette and Jared Gray.
Readings were given by Michelle Carson and Jessica Clark, sisters of the groom.
Ushers included Bradley Carson and Justin Clark, brothers-in-law of the groom.
The mother of the bride was escorted by her husband.
She wore a bordeaux colored, floor length, Jade designer gown with an elegant scoop neckline and A-line skirt. The dress featured a lace detailed bodice and ruching neckline.
The mother of the groom was escorted by her husband. She wore a metallic lace, beaded floor length dress by Richie Freeman.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Justin Alexander wedding gown in champagne and coffee adorned with beaded embroidery and corded lace. The tulle ball gown featured a Sabrina illusion neckline style with high beaded illusion back with regal satin buttons and a chapel length train. Her Bel Aire fingertip veil had silver rolled edges along the top and sides with intricate beaded embroidery along the bottom.
She carried a hand held clutch of ivory hydrangea, peonies, ivory garden roses, lysianthis, ranunculas, ivory majolica roses and O’Hara garden roses wrapped with ivory lace and sentimental rosary and lockets of loved ones.
Maid of honors were Chelsea Hayes and Charmay Blanchard, friends of the bride. Bridesmaids included Lauren Page Lori Frederick and Anne Schlicher, all friends of the bride and Ashley Guidry, cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Sarah Vice, cousin of the bride. Leigh Clark, niece of the groom, served as flower girl. The attendants wore blush chiffon, full length gowns designed by Jim Hjelm.
Eric Trahan, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Blake Blanchard, friend of the groom; Blake Broussard, cousin of the groom; Sam Young, friend of the groom; Brody Guidry, brother of the bride; and Blake Hayes, friend of the groom. Jordan Blanchard, godchild of the bride, served as the junior groomsman. Ring bearer as Liam Trahan, son of the groom. Devin and Logan Blanchard, godchildren of the bride, were the sign carriers.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Black’s Oyster Bar.
Upon their return from a wedding trip to Gatlingburg, Tennessee, the couple will reside in Maurice.
