Funeral services for Captain Gerald L. “Mitt” Mitchell who passed away with his uncle Jones L Mitchell Sr., on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 11:00 A.M. at Lighthouse for Jesus Church in Abbeville. He will be laid to rest at St Paul Cemetery in Abbeville, LA. Gerald was a boat Captain for Omega protein in Intra-Coastal City, LA, and a member of the Go Gettaz Motorcycle Club.
He was a loving son, brother and very devoted father of three children; a son Jayden Mitchell, a daughter, Armani Rice and Jaylee Mitchell. He is also survived by his loving mother Tomika Mitchell, of Abbeville, LA; his finance Denisha Greene of Abbeville, his grandmother Brenda F. Baudoin of Spring, TX; a sister, Tyeisha Williams, brothers, Antonio Gilbert, Tyler Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell Sr. of Abbeville,LA; his first cousin Javion J. Mitchell Sr. whom he loved as his brother, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father Gerald L Williams, Grandfathers; Jones L. Mitchell Sr. and Chester Williams, and a Grandmother Rachel Augustus.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 800 A.M. until time of service at Lighthouse of Jesus Church 6526 Chaisson Road - Abbeville, LA.
