Laurence Cousson Mayard

ABBEVILLE — Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church honoring the life of Laurence Cousson Mayard, 86, who died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Eastridge Nursing Center.
She will be laid to rest at Esther Community Cemetery with Reverend Emmanuel Fernandez officiating the services.
She is survived by her three sons, Warren Anthony “Tony” Mayard and his partner Joseph D. McCarthy of Lafayette, Leonard Mayard, Jr. and his wife Christina of Meaux, and Larry Michael Mayard and his wife Jan of Kaplan; daughter, Mitzi M. Leifer and her husband Michael of Olympia, WA; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Murray Mayard Sr.; two sons, William Mark Mayard and Gary M. Mayard; parents, Hebrard Cousson and the former Eolida Noel; and sister, Edmonia “Mona” Gilbrech.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. when the procession will depart for the church.
