VC, Kaplan still remain alive in playoffs

This Friday, there will be two huge football games in Vermilion Parish.
The No. 2 Vermilion Catholic Eagles will play host to the No. 6 seed Southern Lab Kittens.
VC blew away Delhi Charter 44-14 on Friday to advance.
The Kittens whipped Central Catholic 30-16 on Friday.
Southern Lab (9-3) is by far the toughest team VC will play since losing to Kaplan earlier in the year.
The winner of the game plays in the Division IV State Finals.
VC head coach Russel Kuhns said he did not look past Delhi Charter.
“I know very little about Southern Lab,” said Kunhs. “I was focused on Delhi Charter and not Southern Lab. All I know about Southern Lab is that they have good athletes.”
The Kaplan Pirates went north and beat No. 25 Winnfield 22-7.
Next up for the Pirates are the No. 1 seed Lutcher Bulldogs (11-1). The Bulldogs crushed Wossman 44-6.
Kaplan head coach Stephen Lotief is thrilled to be the playing the No. 1 seed team in Kaplan High’s stadium
“It has been a long time coming,” said Lotief. “There is a great team coming in. We will see if we can get it done.”
