Andrew Quebedeaux
Andrew Quebedeaux passed away on the morning of Saturday September 19, 2015 at Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
Andy, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was a member of the U.S.
Army Special Forces. During his time in the military, his tours of duty took him to Iraq, Kuwait and Africa. His time in the military developed his love for travel and he later recalled all the beautiful countries that he visited.
Andy was a man of few words but had a strong silent courage that carried him through life. He worked in the oilfield for over 20 years in the safety arena. He truly loved his work of protecting people. Andy was fond of his coworkers at FSS and Albertson’s. He considered them family.
In his spare time, Andy enjoyed spending time with his wife Suzie and their two boys, Cord and Cameron. He loved watching LSU football on Saturdays and the New “Orleans Saints on Sundays. If he wasn’t busy with family or football he would enjoy video games.
Andy’s final act of courage was donating his organs to help others live a good life. This was something that was near and dear to his heart because he lost his godchild, Megan, while she was waiting on her gift of life. He would encourage others to do the same.
Those left to cherish Andy’s memories are his wife of 20 years, Susan “Suzie” Quebedeaux; two sons, Cordell “Cord” Paul Quebedeaux and Cameron “Cam” John Quebedeaux both of Lafayette, LA; father, Russel James Quebedeaux; father-in-law, Alvin Gaspard; mother-in-law, Ingrid Karn Gaspard; sister, Katherine Quebedeaux (Glen); brothers, Russel Quebedeaux (Desha) and Paul Quebedeaux and his brother-in-law, Dave Gaspard (Kathleen). He also leaves memories with numerous aunts, uncles (including in laws who loved them like one of their own), nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews (who he fondly called the greats), his special godchild Taylor Renee Gaspard Hebert, Megan Dubois (deceased) and William Lemoine. One really special aunt by marriage (Taunt Paulette), had Down’s Syndrome but she had Andy’s heart and had him wrapped around her little finger. They shared a special bond!
He now joins in his heavenly home sons Gabriel James Quebedeaux and Jacob Michael Quebedeaux; daughters Gabrielle Kaye Quebedeaux and Sydney Beth Quebedeaux; his mother Betty Kaye Hughes and, Megan Dubois.
A private Memorial to celebrate the life of Andrew Quebedeaux will be held on October 3, 2015.
