Elizabeth McLain becomes Mrs. Corbett Joseph LeBouef IV
Miss Elizabeth Kathleen McLain and Mr. Corbett Joseph LeBouef IV were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at half after six at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, Louisiana.
Father Louis Richard officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. McLain of Abbeville. Her mother is the former Laura LeBlanc. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Mr. Roland F. LeBlanc of Abbeville and the late Maxine Landry LeBlanc, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen A. (Cecile) McLain.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Corbett J. LeBouef III of Abbeville. His mother is the former Stephanie Herpin of Kaplan. Corbett, “Chip”, is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Corbett J. LeBouef Jr. of Abbeville and the late Nancy LeBlanc LeBouef, and Dr. and Mrs. Fred W. Thomas and Mrs. Lois Herpin and the late James W. Herpin.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a silk- satin mermaid silhouette gown featuring a heavily beaded illusion scoop neckline and cap sleeves. The dramatic beading continued throughout the illusion back neckline. Alternating jeweled and fabric buttons trailed down the chapel length train. To complete her ensemble, Elizabeth wore a simple but elegant cathedral length veil. It was complemented by an elbow length blusher. She carried a bouquet of blush and ivory roses, white freesia, hydrangeas accented with grey foliage.
Patricia M. Redifer, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. The bride’s attendants were Julie M. Ward and Michelle M. Whitney, sisters of the bride, Leah LeBouef, sister of the groom and Rosemary Dupre’, friend of the bride. They each wore a beautiful midnight blue dupioni silk full length sleeveless dress with a surplice neckline. The gowns featured a full pleated skirt and matching sash tied around the natural waistline.
Dr. Paul Whittington, friend of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Ross Herpin and Don Oliver, cousins of the groom, Robert Russo and Willis Meaux, friends of the groom. Ushers included Allen McLain, Jr., John McLain and Ryan McLain, brothers of the bride. The groom, along with his groomsmen and ushers, wore traditional black tuxedos.
The mother of the bride wore a stylish cap sleeved fit and flare gown in a light blue Mikado fabric. It was accented by an asymmetrical peplum detail embellished with a silver lining. The mother of the groom wore an elegant, faille gown in black, featuring a v-neckline and v-back. A dramatic lace hem adorned the pleated skirt.
Serving as flower girls were Kaylee McLain, Mallory Whitney, Evelyn Redifer and Ainsley Ward, all nieces of the bride. They each wore an heirloom dress of their choice. Small flower pomander balls were carried around their wrists. Allen McLain, III and Luke McLain served as ring bearers. Attending them were Declan Ward, Parker Whitney, Alexander Ward, and Jackson Redifer, all nephews of the bride. They each wore white tuxedo shirts and black dress pants with suspenders and black bowties.
Readers for the ceremony were Ms. Shannon H. Turnley, godmother of the groom, Mr. Danny Herpin, godfather of the groom and Mrs. Laurie Legere, godmother of the bride. Kate H. Trahan, cousin of the groom, Erin W. McLain, sister-in-law of the bride, and Melanie Rabeaux, cousin of the bride, served as gift bearers.
Greeting the guests and offering programs were Alexander and Cornelia Dupre’, friends of the bride.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Miss Laura Couvillon, vocalist, Mr. Tommy Guidry, organist, Mr. Will Green, trumpeter, and Mr. Steven Wilson Jr., timpanist.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Magdalen Place. A rehearsal dinner was held on Thursday, September 10.
Following their return from a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Maurice, Louisiana.
