Campbell and David exchange nuptial vows
St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Gueydan was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Haley Christine Campbell and Jacob John David in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 6 p.m. Officiating the nuptial mass was Father Mitchell Guidry.
The beautiful bride is the daughter of Rocky and Christine Campbell of Gueydan. Her maternal grandparents are Eulan and Ruby Richard and paternal grandparents are the late Buck and Ouida Campbell, all from Gueydan.
The groom is the son of Burton and Juanita David of Lake Arthur. His maternal grandparents are the late Nelson and Rose Dugas of Welsh and paternal grandparents are the late Percy and Lillian Greenhaw David of Lake Arthur.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Rocky Campbell. She wore an elegant A-line silk gown with a beaded sweetheart neckline and hand-made lace jacket. She completed her wedding attire with a hand-made lace-line veil and a bouquet of mixed Rio Roses, Mizuki Carnations with Hypericum stems. Entwined in the bouquet were two rosaries, one belonging to her grandmother and the other belong to his mother.
The maid of honor for the ceremony was Katie Trahan, cousin of the bride wearing a Jim Hjelm champaign colored floor-length dress. The bridesmaids were Tracey Sears, godmother of the bride; Kimberly Hanks, friend of the bride; Samantha Hebert, friend of the bride; Jessica Fluitt, friend of the bride; Laurine Boudreaux, friend of the bride; Rachal David, sister of the groom; Ashlee Guin, friend of the bride; Brooke Gauthier, friend of the bride; and Liesl Dearing, godchild of the groom. Bridesmaids wore a Jim Hjelm gown with gold lace accents with colors ranging from cashmere to a dark pink. They carried a small bouquet identical to the bride’s.
Aubree Guin, godchild of the groom, served as flower girl. She wore an A-line ivory taffeta tea length dress with rose glitter shoes and a floral hairpiece. She carried a basket of pink and light pink flowers
The best man for the ceremony was Andrew Thevis, a friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Greg Fox, friend of the groom; Arnold Thevis, friend of the groom; Blake Campbell, brother of the bride; Sam Fluitt, friend of the groom and cousin of the bride; Clay Jostes, friend of the groom; Ivy Woods, friend of the groom; Kelly Guin, friend of the groom; Pete Dugas, friend of the groom; and Brent David, nephew of the groom. They wore navy tuxedos with champagne vest and white shirts.
Lane Hardee, godchild of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. Readings were given by Joseph David, brother of the groom; Cheryl Thackston, aunt of the bride; and Darlene Broussard, aunt of the bride. The ushers for the ceremony were Kenny Benoit, Taylor Begnaud, Presley Turner and Ian Woods.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Lake Shore Club in Lake Arthur. The couple are taking a wedding trip to Gros Islet St Lucia.
