Man arrested by Delcambre police for stealing credit card, selling tools

If you see a man selling brand new tools from his car at a Delcambre business at 8 at night, something would not look right.
An alert person saw a man selling items from his vehicle on Wednesday and called the Delcambre police.
When they arrived, the police allegedly saw David Menard, who lives on the North Road in Vermilion Parish, selling merchandise.
After questioning him, the police eventually arrested Menard, 35, and charged him with three different counts.
He was charged with theft of goods, illegal possession of stolen items and identity theft.
His total bond was set at $3,500.
According to Delcambre Police Chief James Broussard, Menard allegedly stole someone’s credit card and purchased items with it. He allegedly forged the name of the owner of the stolen credit card to purchase items.
Menard allegedly had in his possession a brand new skill saw and plumbing supplies. Chief Broussard did not know if he had sold any of the items he purchased with the credit card.
If anyone purchased items from Menard, they are encouraged to contact Chief Broussard of the Delcambre Police and report it (685-2697).
