Abbeville police arrest two more in beating of man; one charged with attempted first degree murder

The Abbeville Police Department arrested two more men for their alleged involvement in the beating of a man on Frank’s Alley last week.
One of those men was charged with attempted first-degree murder and second-degree robbery.
Late Monday afternoon, the police arrested John Hebert and 17-year-old Preston Toussaint.
A surveillance video shows six young men beating up on one individual. The six men, shown in the video, were kicking and jumping on the man as he lay on the ground. The man was sent to a local hospital because of internal injuries and still remains there as of Monday.
The fight allegedly happened in front of the home where Colt Turner was staying. Turner was allegedly involved in the fight and was arrested last week and charged with aggravated robbery.
One of the individuals jumped in the air and landed feet first on the individual’s chest and stomach. He did this twice as the person lay unconscious.
The police have reason to believe that person was Hebert. He was charged with attempted-first degree-murder and second-degree robbery.
Toussaint was charged with attempted second degree robbery.
The Abbeville Police are still seeking three of the six involved in the fight.
