Dark tint on vehicle lands Abbeville man in jail who is wanted for attempted murder

Malcom Green of Abbeville thought riding in a vehicle that had illegal dark tint would be a good thing because no one would recognize him. It turned out to be a bad thing because the Louisiana State Police stopped him on the tint violation. When they ran his name through the computer system, they also learned he was wanted by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office for attempted first degree murder.
Green was arrested by State Police at 10:30 Friday morning and charged with attempted first degree murder. His bond was set at $70,000.
He was also given a ticket for illegal tint and not having a driver’s license.
The Sheriff’s Office had a warrant for his arrest.
He was wanted for the shootings that occurred at the Woodmen of the World Lodge in Abbeville on Sept. 14, 2014.
The shooting happened on a Sunday morning during a party. The Sheriff’s Office already arrested Bryson Provost from Loreauville and charged him with seven counts of attempted first-degree murder. His bond was set at $150,000 on each charge.
At the time of his arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said Provost was not the only shooter. Sheriff Mike Couvillon said in a press release six months ago that Provost was shot in the leg. Couvillon said back then it was believed there could be two other shooters.
The Sheriff’s Office did not release anything on what they thought Green’s alleged roll was in the shooting.
