Three parish boys teams bow out of playoffs

Friday night was not a good night for high school basketball for three boys teams in Vermilion Parish.
Abbeville, North Vermilion and Vermilion Catholic lost in the first round of the playoffs.
All three teams were on the road.

Wildcats lost 71-61 to Booker T Washington

Booker T. Washington's Broderick Thomas was on fire in the first half scoring 17 points, including 5 3-pointers to put his team ahead 33-26 at halftime.
He finished the game with 29 points.
The Wildcats were down 21-13 at the end of the first period.
The Wildcats were behind by 10 points, 49-39 at the end of three periods. The lead stayed 10 points for most of the fourth quarter. Abbeville managed to trim Booker T's lead to 60-55 with less than three minutes to play in the game. Abbeville's Jacoby Senegal scored five straight points in the rally. However, down the stretch, Abbeville missed six free throws in the final two minutes.
Booker T had three players score in double digits. Marvontae Alexander had 16 and Demander Washington scored 14 for Booker T.
Abbeville's Isaiah Antoine paced AHS with 20 points and Drevian Evans chipped in 13.

Northwood 77, VC 62

The Eagles of VC were staying around Northwood in the first period only down 18-12. But then something happened in the second period that the Eagles could not recover.
Northwood outscored VC 24-10 in the second quarter and went into the locker room leading 42-22.
The Eagles tried to crawl back into the game and were down 53-37 with one more quarter to play. VC scored 25 points in the fourth period.
Devren Constantine, who did not score in the first period, finished the game with 18 points. He had 12 points in the fourth period, including three 3-pointers.
William Noegel and Trevian Laner were VC's other big scorers. Noegel had 12 points and Lane added 13. Ethan Menard added five. Chris Campbell chipped in two points.

West Lake 72, North Vermilion 50

Donald Comeaux paced North Vermilion with 18 points in the 72-50 loss to West Lake. Jordan Windham added 13 for NV.
West Lake had two players score each 14 points.
