Maurice changes bar closing time to 2 a.m.

MAURICE -- Bars in the Village of Maurice will soon close at 2 a.m.
The Maurice Board of Aldermen voted 3-0 Wednesday during its general meeting to move the weekend bar closing time from 3 a.m. up to 2 a.m. The move puts the village in line with rest of Vermilion Parish, as well as Lafayette Parish. The 3 a.m. closing time had been in place since 1986.
The new ordinance will go into effect in 30 days.
