North Vermilion’s Hannah Vidallier signs LOI, will attend LSU-Eunice

It’s every kid’s dream who plays a sport in high school to get a chance to play at the next level, and North Vermilion’s Hannah Vidallier fulfilled that dream.
Vidallier signed a letter of intent to play for the LSU Bengals next spring. Vidallier will join a team next year, that has a record of 126-8 over the last two seasons, something she is excited about.
“It’s really the best feeling in the world, to know that I can play at the next level with a bunch of people who want the same thing as me, and love the game of softball,” Vidallier said.
“It (LSU-E) was my No. 1 choice,” she said. “I wanted to go there from the start. I kept my options open, but this has always been the place I wanted to go. They have a great program, great coach and an awesome team.”
Vidallier was a main catalyst in the team’s success last season. North Vermilion finished the year with a 19-6 record, and advanced to the semi-finals of the Fastpitch 56 State Championship Tournament.
The senior pitcher earned 15 wins during her junior campaign, on her way to being selected as the Vermilion Parish MVP. She thanked her teammates for getting her to the next step in her career.
“I have awesome teammates for school ball, and my summer team is very competitive,” she said. “Just staying competitive helped me get ready for the next level.”
Vidallier has one season left as a Lady Patriot, and the team has the talent to do great things. Vidallier’s commitment to a powerhouse softball program could be a sign of good things to come for future players, according to former North Vermilion softball coach and current head football coach Richard Prejean.
“For the better part of the last three years, she has been that steady force and that person who has always been a gamer,” Prejean said. “She's a great player off the field, personality wise and she is a leader. She's been a blessing. It shows that the hard work that she put in for years is paying off.
“It's a good teaching tool for younger kids to see all of that hard work pay off and know that it is possible. We haven't had a lot of signees around here, and I think we will see more come from this group of kids. It's been awesome.”
