North Vermilion stops Gueydan; move on

Bessard’s 23 lifts Patriots

A hard-fought game resulted in a 64-50 win for North Vermilion over Gueydan Tuesday night.
The 3 vs. 6 matchup in the Parish tournament did not disappoint as North Vermilion’s execution on both sides of the ball was too much.
The Patriots had four players who scored in double figures.
North Vermilion led 35-28 at halftime, and Mike Bessard took over, scoring 16 of his 23 points in the second half, including 7 points in the final quarter.
North Vermilion’s interior passing within their offense took over in the second half, along with the pinpoint execution of the motion offense.
Terrance Lollis and Blake Turner added 12 each. Jordan Windmon added 11.
Malik Criner scored 19 points for Gueydan, followed by Cade Sonnier with 12 and Colton Woods with 10.
North Vermilion faced Kaplan Wednesday night after the Meridional went to press for a chance to play in the championship game tonight at 7:30.
