Highland Baptist beats Erath boys in tourney

ERATH - In the semifinal game of the Erath tournament on Thursday, the Erath Bobcats went cold in the second half against Highland Baptist, losing 51-35.
EHS played Hanson Saturday in the third place game
On Thursday, after falling behind 14-7 at the end of the first period, Erath got back into the game behind 50 percent shooting (9 out of 18) in the second quarter.
Heading into halftime, Erath was only down 25-21.
Elijah Mitchell scored the final four points for EHS in the second period.
Erath’s hot shooting cooled off in the third period, and so did its scoring.
Highland’s Logan Jordan, who finished the game with 17 points, canned a 3-pointer that gave Highland a 10-point lead.
Jordan would nail two more 3-pointers in the third period to help his team lead 42-26 at the end of the third quarter.
The Bobcats (2-4) never recovered.
Scorers for Erath were: Mitchell (11), Ross Bares (9), Zach Trangmar (2), Jaylen Sinegal (6), Zach Camps (2) and Chene Blanchette (2).
