Maurice man killed in two-vehicle accident on La 92

A Maurice man is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Vermilion Parish. Troopers say it happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. on LA Highway 92 near Pressley Road.
Investigators say a 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Brandon Demette was approaching Pressley Road. At that time, troopers say a truck pulling a trailer and vehicle was turning from Pressley Road to LA Highway 92 when the motorcycle hit the rear of the vehicle. Troopers say Demette, who graduated from North Vermilion High School, was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Troopers say it is unknown if Demette was impaired when the crashed occurred, but they add the driver of the truck was not impaired. The crash remains under investigation.
