No one injured in house fire in Abbeville

No one was injured in a house fire Wednesday morning on Martin Luther King Drive in Abbeville.
The Abbeville Fire Department arrived on scene at around 1:30 Wednesday morning and finally left the location at 8 that same morning.
No one was sleeping in the wooden house at the time of the fire.
When they arrived, the house was engulfed in flames. The fire department began dousing the house with water to make sure no flames jumped to the neighbors' homes.
The owner of the house. Gladys Mithchell was across the street sleeping at a family member’s home. Someone called her that night to let her know her house was on fire.
Carol, the daughter, said she heard about the house fire at around 5 that morning. She said she began crying after hearing her mother was OK, but the house was gone.
The Abbeville Fire Department said it is too early to figure out what caused the fire.
