Gueydan—Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at a 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church honoring the life of Evelyn Weekly, 81, who died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Corey Campeaux officiating the services.
She is survived by her three sons, Sterling Simon and his wife, Ginger of Morse, Keyman Simon and his significant other, Jessica Guidry of Kaplan, and Tillman Simon of Kaplan; one daughter, Malinda Simon of Kaplan; one brother, Ruston Weekly and his wife, Mattie of Gueydan; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester J. Simon; her parents, Diacles Weekly and the former Elodie Vincent; and one sister, Mary Jean Hebert.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Gueydan, 311 Fourth Street, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.; Friday, November 7, 2014 from 8 a.m. until services.
