Lafayette teen arrested for allegedly stealing from a Kaplan camp
A Lafayette teen is behind bars accused of burglarizing a Kaplan camp.
According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, 17-year-old Colbey Stelly was arrested following a three month investigation into the burglary of a camp located on Ovey Road.
In early July, a storage shed was broken into and had the following items stolen: a 2013 camouflage Gatortail boat with motor and trailer, three chainsaws, an air compressor, a shotgun, approximately 40 dozen duck decoys, 200 gallons out of a big tank, six 5-gallon cans of gas, three hunting chairs, two blinds, a wrench set, a hedgecutter and a pole saw.
The following items were recovered: a 2013 camouflage Gatortail boat, approximately 40 dozen duck decoys, 2 hunting chairs, 1 blind and one 5 gallon can of gas.
