Abbeville Police arrest man who allegedly fired at vehicle
On the morning of 9/14/14 at approximately 03:00 AM, the Abbeville Police Department responded to Jade’s Lounge which is located at Graceland Ave. and North Miles Street for the complaint of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle with multiple gunshots into the side. Inside the vehicle was a woman who was treated for injuries and then transported to a medical facility.
While on the scene, officers located numerous casings behind the bar. The Abbeville Police Department continued their investigation by interviewing potential witnesses who were at the club. During the interviews, officers received information of a possible suspect and presented a witness with a photo-lineup. The witness then picked out Roland Bernard III as the shooter at Jade’s Lounge on the morning of 9/14/14.
Warrants were then obtained for the arrest of Roland Bernard III of Abbeville. The warrants were for 2 Counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Illegal Carrying of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon. The total bond on the warrants is $426,000.00.
On the morning of 9/16/14, Roland Bernard III turned himself into the Abbeville Police Department. Roland Bernard was booked on the warrants and transported to VPCC where he awaits bond.
