Michael Louis Myrick
LAFAYETTE — Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Michael Louis Myrick, 68, a native of Erath, who passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 9:00 am until time of service at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA.
Luther Burney, Assistant to the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will officiate services.
Mr. Myrick was a 1963 graduate of Erath High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He honorably served in the United States Air Force. He worked as Senior Systems Support Specialist for the Lafayette Consolidated Government for thirty years.
He is survived by his son, Marcus Anthony Myrick and Marcus’ mother, Quintina Mary Gaspard of Lafayette; brothers, Byron Myrick and wife, Bobbie of Louisville, KY and Jim Myrick of Houston, TX; sister, Cynthia Granger and husband, Neil of Shreveport; and sister-in-law-Jeanie Myrick of Maylene, AL; nine nieces and nephews, Bud Myrick and wife Robin, Liesl Ash and husband, Rob, Kurt Myrick, Jami McNamee and husband, Corey, Nickie Lee and husband, Jason, Beth Werner, Rachel Burns and husband, Trey, and Ben Granger; nine grand-nephews and nieces, Conner and Abbey Lee, Trace Williams, Alex Myrick and Sienna Fox Myrick, Jacob Cockrell, Lucas Burns, Claire Werner, and JC Ash.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Barr Myrick, mother, Sadie Moss Myrick and brother, Bill Myrick.
Mike was a kind and gentle man whose unwavering love and support for family and friends will be greatly missed.
The family expresses its gratitude to Anitha Chintamaneni for her support and friendship, and to his friends and co-workers in the IS&T Department at the Lafayette Consolidated Government.
