Darryl James Delcambre

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Darryl James Delcambre, age 65, at 10:00 am Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until services on Saturday with a Rosary at 9:00 am.
A native of Delcambre and resident of Dover, Arkansas, Darryl passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
Darryl was a veteran of the US Navy whoo served his country during the Vietnam War. He loved animals, spending time on the water and being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Delcambre of Dover, Arkansas; two daughters, Darlyne Suire and husband Walyn of Gulf Breeze, FL and Racheal Campbell and husband Stan of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Cadon Lege, Renson Campbell, Mariah Campbell; Isaih Campbell and Tyler Campbell; one great grandchild, Jackson Grant McFarlane; two brothers, Gerryl Delcambre and Randall Delcambre, Sr. and wife Tina all of Delcambre; four sisters, Suzanne Peltier of Abbeville; Bonnie Miller, Janice Broussard and Angela Fields and husband Leon all of Erath and his godmother, Nancy Gachassin of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edus and Velta Sonnier Delcambre; brother, Anthony Richard, Jr. and his godfather, James Sonnier.
