Frederick, Corbett exchange vows
Emily Claire Frederick and Stephen Trout Corbett exchanged wedding vows during an evening ceremony on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Lafayette. Pastor Brian Wiggins of Lufkin, Texas, officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frederick of Abbeville. Emily is the granddaughter of Mr. Isaac Broussard of Abbeville and the late Mrs. Annie Mae Broussard. Her paternal grandparents are the late Mr. Dudley and Mrs. Helen Frederick. She is a graduate of Abbeville High School and Louisiana State University, and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The groom is the son of Mr. Jeff Corbett of Coldsprings, Texas, and Ms. Barbara Corbett of Lufkin, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. Kenneth Corbett of Jasper, Texas and the late Mrs. Mildred Corbett. Maternal grandparents are Mrs. Wanda Trout of Lufkin, Texas and the late Mr. William and Mrs. Barbara Gaston Trout. Stephen is a graduate of Hudson High School in Lufkin, Texas and Louisiana State University. He is currently employed as a production supervisor with G.E. Oil and Gas.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory Maggie Sottero gown of corded lace on point d’esprit over romance satin. Elegant tiers accented with scalloped eyelash lace and a slim A-line silhouette were set off with a grosgrain beaded belt and was finished with a corset back closure. A three-tiered, cathedral-length veil completed her bridal ensemble. She wore a pearl necklace given to her by the mother of the groom. The bride carried a bouquet of Vendella roses, Senorita roses, and Sahara roses, wrapped with Alencon lace from her mother’s wedding dress. Tucked in her bouquet was a mother of pearl rosary given to her by her maternal grandparents.
Jamie Rodriguez attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sydney Knight and Shayla McLaughlin, friends of the bride; Lauren Lee, cousin of the bride; and Keeley Frederick, sister-in-law of the bride.
They wore flowing, full-length black chiffon dresses with a one-shoulder neckline, asymmetrically pleated bodice, and a wide, pleated waistband detail. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of purple Cezanne roses, Lisianthus, and Status with kiwi Hydrangeas, green button mums, and lavender Cremone mums.
Junior bridesmaid was Isabella Leigh Frederick, godchild of the bride, and Mackenzie Mae Rodriguez, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. They wore full-length, ivory dresses of satin and tulle, accented with a black sash. They carried bouquets of roses and ribbons.
Kenneth Corbett, brother of the groom, attended as best man. Groomsmen were Marc Stanley, Trey Boone, Wayne Ramsey, friends of the groom, and Brian Frederick, brother of the bride.
Gabriel Kristian Frederick, nephew of the bride, served as junior groomsman, and Roddy James Rodriguez godchild of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Ushers for the ceremony were Taylor LeMay, Michael Canseco, and Robert McEntire, friends of the groom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Will Green, trumpeter; Yang Yang Li, violinist; and Kevin Martin, organist.
The mother of the bride wore a royal blue, floor-length mermaid gown featuring a sheer lace neckline and three-quarter length lace sleeves. The mother of the groom wore an aqua, floor-length tulle and lace appliquéd dress featuring a sheer bateau neckline and fitted cap sleeves accented with a jeweled embellishment across the bodice.
Scriptural readings were presented by Mrs. Denise Orellana, aunt of the bride.
A reception was held at City Club at River Ranch immediately following the ceremony where the band, After 8, of Baton Rouge provided music for dancing.
On Friday evening, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at City Club at River Ranch for the wedding party, family and friends.
Upon returning from their honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Lufkin, Texas.
