Erath 10s finish second in ASA state slow pitch tournament

ERATH - The Erath 10-and-under All-Stars dropped two games in the finals by a total of three runs against Lake Charles.
Sunday in the 2014 Louisiana ASA Jr. Olympic State Girls Slowpitch Tournament, Erath advanced through the winner’s bracket and only needed one win against Lake Charles to take state.
In the first finals game, Lake Charles tied it 5-5 forcing an extra inning.
Lake Charles scored two runs in the top of the 8th for a 7-5 victory to force a second and final game.
In the final game, Erath got behind 4-0 and crawled back into the game and went ahead 6-5 in the top of the fifth inning.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, however, Lake Charles had two hits and scored three runs for a 8-6 lead.
Jalehria Soelu had a triple and scored for Erath in the top of the seventh to close within one run, but it was not enough.
Erath lost 8-7 to claim second place.
Players for Erath are Kennedi Rodriguez, Alani Richard, Laci Frederick, Mollie Landry, Alexis Stelly, Courtney Dubois, Aubrey Desoremeaux, Kaleigh Reaux, Chloe Leger, Jalehria Soelu.
They are coached by Kerry Richard and Kent Rodriguez.
